As part of our work on electricity safety, we had published a discussion paper, Electricity safety: Tragically falling through the governance gaps in English and Hindi in 2022. This was followed by a webinar, few articles, regulatory submissions and presentations. All these, highlighting the causes of accidents and suggestions to reduce them, were aimed at policy makers, regulators and distribution companies. This short article, with updated data and written in a jargon free manner, attempts to convey a similar message to high school teachers, students and parents. The Hindi version of this article has been published in the September-October 2025 issue of Sandarbh, a bi-monthly published by Eklavya, Madhya Pradesh.
