Telangana distribution companies filed petitions before Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission (TGERC) for determination of revised Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) and CSS proposals for Retail Supply Business of FY 2026-27 under MYT Regulation No.2 of 2023. Prayas (Energy Group) submitted comments and suggestions on the petition to TGERC, to which the DISCOMs responded. We made an additional submission in response, raising the following points, and presented these during the public hearing in Hyderabad on March 7th 2026.

• Clear explanations are needed to justify the growth rates used to project consumer category-wise demand
• Better justification and underlying data needs to be provided for estimating agriculture power demand
• Feeder based estimation of agriculture demand is a more robust method given that most feeders are metered and communicating
• Set up a committee to study electricity accidents, suggest recommendations to reduce accidents, with clear targets
• Need for timely tariff revisions; Could consider inflation-linked tariffs within the MYT period
• Evaluate the cost incurred in offering standby services and thereby formulate an appropriate standby pricing framework
• Undertake a detailed time-of-day pricing study for Telangana
