Central Electricity Regulatory Commission had published the draft Indian Electricity Grid Code Regulations in June 2022. After 2010, this is the first major overhaul of this Regulation which governs the coordinated operation of the national power grid. PEG  submitted comments on this draft Regulation and participated in the public hearing held on 19/10/2022. PEG submission recognised the importance of this Regulation for reliable operation of the national grid. Submission had suggestions on improving the demand forecast and generation planning by State utilities. Improving the transparency and accountability in implementation of these Regulations  by all sector actors were also covered.
