Two of the Wind project owners’ association approached MERC with a plea to decide tariff at which MSEB should purchase wind power. The MERC requires that purchasing utility, MSEB in this case, apply to MERC. On MSEB’s application, MERC required wind project promoters to give substantial data and information. The Prayas submission on this topic pointed out the serious limitations in the study done by MERC consultant and argued that tariff should be lower considering the large up-front subsidy given to these projects.
