MERC released its draft rural policy advice and a technical report on rural electrification in Maharashtra. The report was focused on the franchisee model in rural areas. Prayas made a presentation before the State Advisory Committee regarding the report. Prayas’s comments mainly deal with the key concerns in the proposed franchisee model and also some concrete suggestions for addressing the issue of rural electrification.
