Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (MSPGCL) submitted its Petition for final True-up for 2010-11 & Approval of ARR and Tariff for the year FY11-12 & FY12-13. Pursuant to this, Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) conducted Public hearing on this matter in Mumbai on 12th April 2012. Following is presentation made by Prayas during the hearing. The comments mainly deal with the important techno-economic issues.

During the public hearing, the Managing Director of MSPGCL referred to second or subsequent study done by CPRI to assess performance of MSPGCL plants. However there is no mention of this report or its terms of reference on the commission’s website. Therefore, subsequent to the hearing Prayas wrote a formal letter (attached below) to the commission requesting it to publish the said report and its terms of reference.
